LINKS Added to the Left

In an effort to improve ease of searching for info and deals, I have finally figured out how to add pertinent and/or interesting links to the sidebar located on the left. So now you no longer need to wade through all of this text to find links I want to pass along to you! Check out the links to the left, and I'll try to remember to add any new ones that come along over there as well as here in the main body. Hope this helps!

This weekend I'm off to my mother's in Kanasa City to meet up with her and my grandmother to work on altering my beautiful wedding dress. There will be four generations of us counting Katie (who is very eager to contribute and is quite worried about her lack of sewing experience at the age of 8,) so this should be very special! Wish us luck!

The Number to Call for the Best Deal

Okay. Here's the newest best deal hook-up. We booked through this agency with Maritza. They may or may not have the best deals on airfare (we're booking our flights separately,) so check online for air, too. They seem to have the best deals for both the Paraiso Maya and the Paraiso Lindo, whichever you're thinking of choosing. We booked the Paraiso Maya (the wedding is there, too, but the Lindo is right next door.) Here's the links to the sites so you can see the package/hotel info, but you have to call Maritza at the number below for the actual quotes.

Paraiso Maya Packages
Paraiso Lindo Packages

To get your quote from your airport and your dates:
Call Maritza at:
(888) 774-0040/ (305) 774 - 0040 Monday - Friday 9:30 am - 6:00 PM, Saturday 10:00AM - 2:00PM EST

The BeachDestinations.com deal seems to be the deal to beat at the Paraiso Maya, so price your package with them first here:Beach Destinations Paraiso Maya Package w/Air, then call Maritza at the above number and see if she can beat the price at the Maya.

If you're interested in staying at the Lindo, which is not all-suites and a bit cheaper, call Maritza. It's the best deal around. Just check the flight prices, because it may be cheapest to book them separately yourself.

More Prices/Links for Reservations

Room at the Paraiso Maya

View from the Golf Course at the Paraiso Maya

We have been tag-team extensively searching the internet tonight for the cheapest package and or/hotel only deals we can find. The link I posted before still stands as the best deal for the Paraiso Maya, no matter where you're flying from. Price varies a little bit based on which airport you fly in and out of. (I tested SDF, MCI, MSP, and COS, and the dates Aug 10-14.) After you click on the link, just choose the dates you want to travel and the airport you'll be flying in and out of. This deal is cheaper even than the packages I can find at the Paraiso Lindo. Here's the link again: PARAISO MAYA hotel AND airfare PACKAGE

We did find the great price below for the Paraiso Lindo, but air prices are not included. After you click on the link, scroll down to the box in the lower right corner and enter your travel dates. Check it out. If you can find good prices on airfare, this might be a good deal.
Cheapest Price PARAISO LINDO--HOTEL ONLY, (Aug 10-14--$1224 Total/$612 per person)

Bar at the Paraiso Lindo

Rob got a quote from a travel agent for 4 nights (Aug 10-14) at the Paraiso Lindo with airfare from Chicago for just over $1000 per person. He's going to get back with her tomorrow to check prices from other airports. I'll keep you posted on that angle.

It looks like the group discount angle has fallen through, as it would require at least 20 people all flying from the same airport. So, we'll keep at the great vacation deal angle we've been pursuing. Again, please let us know or feel free to leave a comment at the end of any of these entries with the info!

ALSO, I need to let everyone know that if you decide to stay at a hotel other than the Iberostar Paraiso Maya or the Iberostar Paraiso Lindo, you will have to buy a day pass for the Paraiso Maya the day of the wedding, at least, and for any other day you want to spend visiting with us or other friends/family members at the Lindo or the Maya.(A day pass at the Paraiso Maya costs $100 per person, per day.) All guests staying at the Lindo or the Maya have full privileges at both of these hotels and at the additional two Iberostar hotels nearby (all pools, restaurants, bars, etc.) It's really a pretty neat deal. I'll elaborate on the 2 hotels and all associated privileges in my next entry!

Hope some of this info helps. If you have any questions, please leave a comment or give me call/email. I'll be glad to help any way I can!

Cheapest Price SO FAR

CLICK HERE for the cheapest price I've found so far on the AIR and HOTEL at the Iberostar Paraiso Maya. I searched for dates 08/10/06 through 08/14/06. It'll be different rates depending on where you are flying from. That's what makes finding the best deal so logistically difficult, actually--We all live so spread out over the country!

We've contacted travel agents, searched the web at great length, and I'm still waiting to hear back from the hotel chain headquarters themselves (I've been ignored, redirected a few times, and kept waiting by the hotel reservation people, but I haven't given up yet on perhaps getting a good group rate from them.) Rob wants me to be sure to let you all know that we may be able to get the best deals by waiting until closer to August to look for packages/deals. Thought I'd get this one up, though, in case anyone is getting antsy and doesn't want to wait.

I'll keep looking, and let me know if you find something great!

One more update--the wedding coordinator said they would start locking in the wedding details 2 months prior to the wedding date, so be prepared to start giving me necessary info by mid-June.

That's all I have for now!

Has it really been a month???

So sorry it has been so long! I don't know where all the time has gone. Here's a copy of the inside of our "Save the Date" card, which you will all be receiving before too long (I hope.) Just finished the last designing of it all tonight. Now there's assembly, getting a list of addresses to send them, and stamps to get, too. Almost there. Then it will be time to work on the invitations, I suppose. Anyway, here's this much, for now. What do you think? :)
